Picking a domain name is one of the most important decisions one can make when building a website. The Domain name tells visitors what to expect when they hit 'enter'. With that being said, Peak Beak knows that choosing a domain name needs to be as stress-free as possible so we put together a helpful guide on choosing a domain name.

1. Make sure the domain name is easy to remember:

Domain names need to be easily remembered by visitors so they can find the website again!

2. Make Domain Names easy to type:

When choosing a domain name, make sure that the domain is easy to type into the address bar and doesn't have any confusing slang. A website that has the domain name "pizzaexpress.com" follows these rules while a domain name of "pizzaxpress.com" doesn't. While the domain name might make sense to a few people, visitors typing in "pizzaexpress.com" when they should really be typing "pizzaxpress.com" will not be able to find the correct website.

3. Use Keywords:

This is a good rule to follow if you are offering a specific service like a house cleaning business. A good domain name here might be: "cleaningcrew.com" this not only uses keywords but it also uses alliteration (the use of the same letter or sound in closely connected words."

4. Use location:

If your business or website is for a target area, use the area in your domain name. For example, "Clevelandcleaning.com"

5. Use the proper extension!

This is a big one, you should not use a .org extension for a commercial website. In this case, a .com extension should be used.

6. ACT FAST
Domain Names sell very quickly and the only way to make sure the domain you want is yours is to buy it.
